You’ve seen the following logos on our site for environmentally conscious materials:
GreenGuard: The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) was founded in 2001 with the mission of improving human health and quality of life by enhancing indoor air quality and reducing people’s exposure to chemicals and other pollutants. In keeping with that mission, GEI certifies products and materials for low chemical emissions and provides a free resource for choosing healthier products and materials for indoor environments.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100:TheOeko-Tex Standard 100 was introduced at the beginning of the 1990s as a response to the needs of the general public for textiles which posed no risk to health. “Poison in textiles” and other negative headlines were widespread at this time and indiscriminately branded all chemical across the board used in textile manufacturing as negative and dangerous to health.
NFPA: The purposes of the Association shall be to promote the science and improve the methods of fire protection and prevention, electrical safety and other related safety goals; to obtain and circulate information and promote education and research on these subjects; and to secure the cooperation of its members and the public in establishing proper safeguards against loss of life and property.
PB Lead Free: Blinds Brothers’ Pb-free program incorporates manufacturing processes that reduce or remove the amount of Pb in our window blinds products so only trace amounts remain. We do not intentionally add Pb* to any of our window blinds or hardware. Using these processes, Blinds Brothers has attained internationally recognized Pb-free levels, including those specified in the European Union’s RoHS Directive, while meeting our customers’ performance needs.
